REALTORS Relief Foundation Offering Housing Aid to Flooding Victims of Gibson City

       Illinois REALTORS® Relief Foundation (IRRF) and the Champaign County Association of REALTORS® have announced that residents affected by the recent flooding in Gibson City, Illinois are now eligible to apply for housing relief through a charitable foundation which aids areas hit by natural disasters.

          IRRF, which is the disaster assistance foundation established by Illinois REALTORS®, provides relief assistance. The request to provide aid to residents of Gibson City, Illinois who were affected by heavy rains on Aug. 12 was made by the Champaign County Association of REALTORS®.

          “When disaster strikes, the Illinois REALTORS® Relief Foundation has one goal to help families who have endured unimaginable loss,” said Jeff Baker, CEO of Illinois REALTORS®.

“The unexpected, disastrous flooding that occurred in Gibson City on Aug. 12 forced many homeowners from their homes,” said Liz McDonald, president of the Champaign County Association of REALTORS®.  “CCAR immediately requested funds be appropriated through the Illinois REALTORS® Relief Foundation targeted directly to provide housing relief of up to $500 per household to people living in Gibson City who were affected by the flood.”

          The deadline to apply for relief funds is Nov. 30, 2021. Individuals interested in applying for relief funds should go to this link: Assistance is available to qualified applicants.

          The IRRF and Illinois REALTORS® have donated hundreds of thousands of dollars over the years to assist Illinois residents.
