Champaign REALTORS Attend IAR Public Policy Meetings

Several members of the Champaign County Association of REALTORS® participated in the Illinois Association of REALTORS® Public Policy Meetings, Jan. 20-23 in East Peoria. Those members participating included:

 

REALTOR®  Phil Trautman, broker with Champaign County REALTY of Champaign; Max Mitchell, broker with RE/MAX Realty Associates, Champaign (member of IAR Board of Directors),  REALTOR® Matt Difanis, broker with RE/MAX Realty Associates, Champaign; REALTOR® Carole Meinhart, broker with Prudential Snyder RE, Inc.- Champaign; REALTOR® Julie Roth, broker with Prudential Snyder RE, Inc.- Champaign; Pam Wilken, Coldwell Banker Honig-Bell, Champaign Realty, Champaign; and Linda Green, Association Executive, Champaign County Association of REALTORS®.

 

Each year, the Illinois Association of REALTORS® (IAR) holds meetings in January to discuss local, state and federal policy issues affecting the industry in order to set their policy agenda for the year. The invitation-only meeting attracts some of the most engaged members of the association representing the real estate industry in Illinois.

 

“Champaign REALTORS® actively participated in the 2014 Illinois Association of REALTORS® Public Policy meetings where REALTORS® from across the state gathered to review and discuss important economic issues and to consider new legislative initiatives and regulations affecting property owners and and/or the real estate industry in Illinois. REALTORS® need to have a voice in the legislative and policy issues affecting their business,” said Phil Trautman, president Champaign County Association of REALTORS®.

 

The Illinois Association of REALTORS® is a voluntary trade association whose 41,000 members are engaged in all facets of the real estate industry. In addition to serving the professional needs of its members, the Illinois Association of REALTORS® works to protect the rights of private property owners in the state by recommending and promoting legislation that safeguards and advances the interest of real property ownership
