Max McComb Receives CCAR REALTOR of the Year Award

REALTOR® Max McComb, a broker with RE/MAX Realty Associates of Champaign is the 2015 REALTOR® of the Year for the Champaign County Association of REALTORS® (CCAR). McComb received the award at the CCAR annual awards banquet October 15th at the Champaign Country Club.

          The award is based on involvement to the REALTOR® Association, real estate industry and contributions to the community.

          McComb currently serves as the Secretary/Treasurer of the Champaign County Association of REALTORS®. He has served as a member of the board of directors for CCAR and on several CCAR committees and working groups.  He is also active with the Illinois Association of REALTORS® (IAR).  He is a graduate of the IAR leadership development program and serves on the IAR By-Laws Committee, Public Policy and Government Affairs Involvement Group and the Nominating Committee.

          "This year we recognize Max McComb for his outstanding contributions to the real estate industry and to his volunteerism with the Champaign County Association of REALTORS® and our community," said Stefanie Pratt, CCAR president.  

          McComb has been a REALTOR® since 2008. McComb also holds elective office as a three-term member of the Mahomet-Seymour Board of Education. He has served on the Board of Education Finance Committee and was elected Board President in 2015. McComb also received the First Bank Scholarship for 2015.

          He will be recognized at the Illinois Association of REALTORS® REALTOR® of the Year Banquet next June in Springfield.

          Other individuals recognized at the CCAR Awards banquet include:

          REALTOR® Kristen Long, a broker with RE/MAX Realty Associates, received the R.O.O.K.I.E. of the Year award. The award is presented annually to a new REALTOR® who has been in the industry no more than two years but who has actively served on Association committees.

          REALTOR® Jim Waller, a broker with Coldwell Banker Honig-Bell of Champaign, received the Affiliate Choice Award. The award is presented annually to a REALTOR® selected by affiliate members in recognition of his/her outstanding contribution to the local real estate industry.

          Yvonne Sjoken of First Mid-Illinois Bank & Trust received the Affiliate of the Year award. The award is bestowed on a CCAR affiliate member each year in recognition for their contribution to furthering the local real estate profession through participation in Association activities and committees and assisting REALTOR® members.

          REALTOR® Jesse Stauffer, a broker with RE/MAX Realty Associates, received the Helen Stafford Scholarship which is presented to a new agent who has been an active member of CCAR for no longer than five years.

          REALTOR® Beth Culkeen, a broker with Keller Williams Realty, received the PrimeLending Scholarship .

          REALTOR® Chris Diana, a broker with Twin City Realty, received the Busey Bank Scholarship.

          REALTOR® Todd Salen, a broker with Sperry Van Ness/Ramshaw Real Estate, received the PNC Mortgage Scholarship.

          The Champaign County Association of REALTORS® is a voluntary organization serving Champaign County and surrounding areas, and it is the leading resource for REALTOR® members and an advocate for homeownership and private property rights.
