Mission and History

The Champaign County Association of REALTORS® is the "Voice for Real Estate" in the Champaign County area of Illinois, whose over 400 members are engaged in all facets of the real estate industry. CCAR was chartered in 1917.

The mission of CCAR is to be the leading resource for REALTOR® members and an advocate for homeownership and private property rights. The vision of CCAR is to strive to be recognized as a community and education focused resource comprised of ethical real estate professionals.

Membership is comprised of REALTORS® who are engaged in all aspects of the sale, purchase, exchange, appraisal, renting, managing, and leasing of real property in Illinois. CCAR also has over 100 affiliate members who represent organizations that provide services to Association members. CCAR is one of the 34 local REALTOR® Associations of the Illinois Association of REALTORS® and 1,400 associations/ boards nationwide as part of the National Association of REALTORS®. Members pledge to abide by a strict Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.

The Champaign County Association of REALTORS® services its membership in developing and promoting essential and unique business programs and services. It is committed to providing ethical and professional services to the Champaign County community through communications, education and the protection of private property rights.

Email address info@champaigncountyassociation of realtors.com Linda Green serves as Association Executive for the Champaign County Association of REALTORS® and serves as staff liaison to the CCAR officers and directors and supervises four full-time and one part time employees of the Association.

The Term REALTOR®

The term REALTOR® is a registered collective membership mark that identifies a real estate professional who is a member of the National Association of REALTORS® and subscribes to its Code of Ethics. Not everyone that holds a real estate license can call himself or herself a REALTOR®. The term can only be used by individuals who are members of the National Association of REALTORS® and subscribe to its strict Code of Ethics.
